I'm a musician and graphic designer, and I've never really been able to separate the two. A color has a tempo. A layout has a rhythm. A brand that feels off usually means the picture and the sound are playing different songs. My job is to get them in tune, so what people see matches what they hear when you talk about your work.

I notice things. I'll catch the font that's fighting your message, the slide that drags, or the photo that says something you didn't mean. I see what's actually there, not what we hoped would be there, and then I make something better with it.

Carousels, graphics, visual systems: I bring the same intensity to all of them that I bring to writing music, because your audience can feel the difference. And yes, I picked this picture on purpose.

I edit like a poet and organize like someone who has run a classroom of forty adults through a research paper in fourteen weeks. Language is the most powerful tool any of us have, and I am here to help you use your voice to make positive change in this world.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing and bring over 500 hours of teaching experience at the university level, plus 20+ writing workshops facilitated — which is a fancy way of saying I've spent 15+ years inside how people think, argue, and mean things, then helping them say it for greatest impact.

I'm in your corner. Someone who can help you build resonance instead of just noise in the AI slop era, break a daunting project into a syllabus instead of a spiral, and organize the chaos of the creative process into something with a shape.

A little more about me...

YOU'LL FIND ME...

I am Jenna Knapp ⛲️. I'm an artist. Everything else I've built grew out of that.

I earned my BFA at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and later received the Mary L. Nohl Fellowship. My conceptual practice took me to residencies in Amsterdam and London, and I've always been drawn to work that's less about the object and more about what happens to a person while they're with it. That's also why I make videos that show one word at a time: I want you to slow down enough to actually read it.

In 2017, I published I Kept Things I Did Not Need, a collection of poetry, prose, photographs, and archival material about grief, survival, and healing. It taught me that the things we hold onto can become the structure that carries us through.

In 2019, during my residency at Lynden Sculpture Garden, I carved a five-circuit walking labyrinth, sixty-nine feet across, into the native prairie. It's still there, and people still walk it to grieve, to decide, and to hear themselves think. (It's also on Google Earth, which never stops delighting me.) Later, KP and I led the Actively Missing You poetry workshops beside it, gathering community writing to engrave into the logs of a fallen Norway maple.

Alongside my art, I built Mental Wealth Method. As a trained hypnotist and NLP trainer, I've taught practitioners in Pakistan, Malaysia, Canada, and the Dominican Republic, and I've logged more than 900 hours of coaching.

Through Dear Self With Love, I run letter-writing workshops where people write to their future selves and get those letters back a year later, with real stamps.

It's been different mediums every time, but the job has always been the same: build the structure, protect the attention, and let people find their own way through. Have Cake Creative is that same instinct, just aimed at your content.
